I make it a rule to leave at least one or two seats between me and another person when sitting down in any public place. I would rather be a complete stranger than “this creepy teenage girl who randomly sat down next to me without even asking and just kept checking her phone” <—read in a blonde girls voice
But really, I just try to avoid awkward moments. I've had enough of them for a lifetime…
This reminds me of one of the taboos of the men’s bathroom: you should never use the urinal right next to the one I’m at. I hate it when people do that.
