Sand
Maybe the little girl had done something wrong and this was her punishment, or maybe she was headed to a wedding and had to remain clean, I don’t know. I do know that the little girl was sad and it made me want to allow Margot to get as dirty as she wanted.
(Except Margot doesn’t even like getting dirty, so she didn’t play in the sand at all.)
That’s messed up. If you are going to punish your kid for doing something wrong, telling them no while practically dangling what their want out of their face is just cruel. If ya gotta punish, take them away from the park :/
I think the situation here was definitely the kid needed to remain clean for something instead of punishment. I’m too much a softy though, I wouldn’t be able to say no.
Yeah, I think that if you know you won’t allow your kid to play in the sand, just don’t go to the park at all.
As a preschool teacher, I not only let my students play in the sand, I encouraged them to do so … and got down in there with them. My only rules: no throwing sand and no “washing your hair” with sand.
well it is possible that she really is punishing her kid, there are quite a bit of messed up parents
Unfortunately, some people like to bring their dogs to the park too. That and the occasional stray cat means that you may find undesired “surprises” in the sand. This happened in the village where I used to live, so kids were not playing in the sand for hygiene reasons.
Hopefully that’s not the case where you are though, and kids can enjoy their sandpit :) !
Nah! It’s a good clean park. :)
