I couldn’t even fit all the people I met in that first tiny panel — I’m sorry for those I didn’t include! It was nice meeting you just the same!
So featured in this comic: Madéleine, Lauren, Dale, Mike, Charmaine, Geneva, Anthony, Brian, Nick, Zac, Eric, Sarah, Jess Fink and Emily Partridge!
Also: I had almost everyone who bought a book repeat their names at least three times. I guess it was a mix of stress, surrounding noise and language barrier…
Much take it you’re much more literate in English, than you are fluent. Don’t worry, I’m like that with Japanese.
Oh balls, I meant to say “I take it you’re…”, instead of “Much take it you’re…”
Haha I was gonna say “…Well I’m not as literate as you think I am because I don’t get that sentence…” XD
Oh gosh I wish I were there…!! D=< The third panel is so funny; I love it!
There’s a comic festival kind of near your place (in Bethesda, Maryland)! I want to go next year!
Yaaaaay!! I’m going to try so hard to go!
Hahaha Sawuh/Sarah…
Hmm I’m not sure I said that right… If you make a “u” with your tongue and put the top of the “u” against your upper back teeth, and keep your mouth mostly closed, you get a pretty solid American English “r” sound. (Well, they do a different one down south (“uhh” sound), and out in Boston (“aah” sound), but this is the professional newscaster’s accent. :) )
the third panel is the story of my life. being ~5ft is awesome, ain’t it?
I like it! Except on mass transit on very warm days.
If I ever go to a con and you’re there, we’ll have to play with the languages. My french is so rusty it makes me cry… :)
I read your other comment and it’s super cute :D
*le gasp!* its like a meeting of all the random and funny people there is around the interwebs! if i were there i would vomit rainbows
That’s pretty much what happened
I SERIOUSLY thought you spoke perfect english until this comic
D:
I had no idea. You write so perfectly!
Awww thanks! I can safely say I’m bilingual, and I’m pretty good at spoken English in general, but sometimes accents are difficult for me to understand. I also have an audible accent, although it’s not as strong as it was.
your written english is so good its hard to imagine you having a hard time speaking!
now i’m interested in how you would pronounce “ryan”
Also, you have any plans of doing any cons in Texas?
Actually, I don’t really have a hard time speaking English! I do have a small accent and sometimes I’ll butcher a few words, but overall you’d understand me easily enough. I know how to pronounce “Ryan” ;)
My biggest difficulty is, like I said, accents.
As for cons, I’m only beginning to check for cons in the US. I registered for NYCC and I want to attend MoCCA and SPX next year. I haven’t really heard of any cons in Texas that I would fit into? What would you suggest?
I actually don’t know. I really don’t pay attention to cons unless i know someone i wanna see is gonna be there (unless Im in Indiana for GenCon, but that won’t happen very often anymore). I can look around for you if you want.
I can read French just fine… but try to get me to write it or speak in a conversation and I’ll be at toddler level. Switched to Japanese before completing my French requirement in high school. Whoops.
