Hourly Comic Day 2018
Today is the best day of the year: Hourly Comic Day! I’ll be posting a new comic every hour, all day (ideally I won’t be delayed too much). Come back often! It’s also Boumeries’ 7th anniversary today. We’re not getting any younger :)
Discussion (15) ¬
Wait, (wax) crayons would just break. Did you actually mean markers, or maybe pencil crayons?
Oops, markers!! I suck.
Happy anniversary! :-)
Poor Pierre-Luc, he just doesn’t get it. I may not be an artist but I go equally as batty when someone squanders latex gloves (I’m a nurse). Supplies are important!
I’m not an artist (but I’m still doing hourly comic day this year because I would like to practice drawing and I’ve meant to forever!) but I also am protective of the kids’ art supplies. My other bugaboo apart from the pushed-in markers and broken crayons is MARKERS WITH THE CAPS LEFT OFF so many dried out markers who never got to reach their full potential. :(
Why is the neighbor human? Why can’t he(she? They?) be dogs? Or birds? Or giraffes? Or aliens? Or….(and so on and so forth)
I understand your pain on the makers. Art supplies are very important!
Wait, so… Margot takes breakdancing classes? She’s specifically learning urban street dancing? Or are they just generic dancing classes? It’s pretty funny to imagine an instructor breaking out a sheet of cardboard for them to spin on. (I took similar classes when I was 4).
Yes! A breakdancing class for 3-4 year-olds!
Hi! Great comics!
Just wanted to let you know that saying just “too bad,” like in the marker comic, would usually sound dismissive, like you didn’t really care. For example, if someone was complaining to you about something, and your reply was “too bad”, it would mean, “you think I care?! Don’t complain to me about something so stupid.” Or if you were talking about something that happened to you, like, “I shrunk my favorite sweater! Well, too bad,” it would mean, “well, it’s not the worst thing that could happen. I guess I’ll just get over it.” If you use “too bad” in a longer sentence, it usually loses this connotation. So you could say something like, “It’s too bad you couldn’t make it to lunch today. Let’s meet up for coffee,” and that could mean you were genuinely sorry about the person missing lunch. Or if you replied to someone’s story with, “Oh, no! That’s just too bad,” you might be genuinely sympathizing with them.
In your comic, you might say, “It’s so sad.” or “It’s such a shame.” or “What a shame.”
I thought that didn’t sound right! Thanks, I’ll change it!
I love these comics, especially the one about Final Fantasy VI. My 7 year old niece and I just started Final Fantasy VI. She’s not that into it. She keeps asking to play Yoshi’s Island instead. But when we do she always wants to see more of Celes. She has blond hair so she immediately identifies with blonde women in games :)
In the human comic what did you end up saying?
I can’t remember. I probably laughed
