I bring you a new category of posts: the flashbacks! Reminiscing since 1985. This one’s featuring Cab, whose computer couldn’t handle Squaresoft greatness.

The trick for FF7 on the PC was to rip the CDs to the PC and Mount them virtually taking away 100% of the loading time.
Note that if you had a good sound card, FF7 on the PC also sounded MUCH better than on the PSone.
The PC version was higher Rez than the PSone version, BUT kept the Lowrez pre-rendered images.
Someone also moded FF7, and replaced the SD Character with the Combat Characters a couple of years ago.
On the sad note, I don’t think this game is supported by Win7 and it doesn’t support the new resolutions today’s LCDs use…

Ahh, t’es au courant de tout! Avoir su… La copie qu’on avait à l’époque était en français en plus, et la traduction était très ordinaire!
I’ve got that on PC but I’ve never actually played it – I was going to give it to a friend.
LOL, poor Cab. PS1 is the way to play Final Fantasy.
Yeah, totally. But she didn’t have one (I did — which explained my jealousy).
Ah, le fameux « Je jouerai plus JAMAIS à ca». Meme au CEGEP je l’ai entendu…. Tee-hee!!!
Et pourtant, elle a rejoué!
