Sliding
I had a very hard time trying to draw the movement in this one, especially with a stroller hiding most of the character . Basically, the ice was so smooth and the winds so strong that the stroller and I would just slide down the sidewalk and into the busy streets…
Honestly I think the movement doesn’t read at all and I just look completely still and screaming, so I failed that part, but the animation is nice. ;)
I think it looks really good and interprets the scariness of ice quite well. Maybe animating the swirls would have given it more of the action you were looking for.
Thanks!
I was never expecting this kind of weather happening again in Montreal. The last time that I had this kind of horrible experience was in during the Christmas week of 2011, when all of the St.Laurent Boulevard and Prince Arthur was a complete ice ring XD.
Really funny this one, ahah XD
Peut-être si tu avais fait un cycle avec le sol qui bouge vers la gauche? T’aurais glissé à l’infini :3
Ahhhh ça aurait été une bonne idée ça!
Meanwhile, the baby’s going “WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!”
Ice is the worst, especially when its under the snow or invisible on the roads.
Thank god you didnt get hurt, the animation looks great. Especially the eternal ‘AAAAA’.
That kinda thing happened a few times when I lived in Indiana.
When i was a kid there was a hill in my family’s back yard at the time… after snow, sleet, AND freezing rain it was nearly impossible to walk up, but if you managed to get a sled up there you’d go halfway up the yard, back up the hill, and back and forth until you stopped at the base. but yeah, a gust of wind would send you back down whether or not you were ready.
Hey I was wondering, do you ever wake up some mornings and forget what your first language is? Cause that kept happening to me when I tried learning Latin and Spanish
I’m not learning any language at the moment so no, but a few years ago I’d have Italian and Spanish classes (not all at once) and I’d get them mixed up with English sometimes, since English isn’t my first language. So weird what the brain can do.
I’ve done that too! When I was learning German, I also started learning Norwegian. Norwegian’s prepositions are more similar to English that German (for example ‘from’ is ‘fra’ in Norwegian whereas its “aus” in German) I’d slip in Norwegian prepositions into my German all the time. It still sounded German… but it raised eyebrows.
I understood about the movement in this panel…I lived in Buffalo, NY for 3 years. Sometimes they had to put ropes across open plazas, just so had something to hold on to.
And trying to get them over snow banks when they don’t plow the sidewalks…I serious was doing a happy dance once my son hit 3. I was like ok kiddo your walking now.
Margot does not look like she minds this inconvenience at all.
