That’s a really healthy mindset! Most artists I know (myself included) get obsessive with tweaking and trying to get it “right”- being able to let go and do better next time is great. <3

No seriously, hear me out! If the shower hose is twisted but cannot relieve that torsional stress, the pressure in the water will cause it to expand in the direction it can (opposite the torsional stress put on it). Kind of like those spinning discs held on the two lengths of string in a loop. You twist the string, then pull on it, and voilà, the disc spins quickly, because the torsional deflection you introduced into the string by twisting it can only relieve itself this way.
To prevent the shower head from moving seemingly of its own volition, make sure the shower hose is free of twists and loops. If it has a free-wheeling coupling, it helps. Otherwise, you have to take the shower head out of the holder and untwist the hose.

I learned about this in high school, and it also applies to all sorts of hoses. For example, garden hoses can also get this tension. Since most hoses are made of fibers wound around rubber core, they tend to also twist easier in one direction. If you just turn the hose on before picking it up, it will usually untwist itself.

I actually laughed out loud, and I never do that!
