Lol, I knew about periods in theory, but when it came for the first time I panicked and called mom into the bathroom to help me xD
She was waaaayy too excited about it though. Hugs and tears and everything.
All my Boumeries are drawn on regular computer paper, inked with (normally) a brush pen, then scanned and brought into Photoshop for the grey tones and lettering.
I’ve liked the micron brush pen, though the brush tip seemed to fray pretty quick. Also, the micron stuff works well with the water based Tombow pens that are blend-able, if you’re into that kind of thing.
Yeah, the Micron brush pens lasted about five minutes with me.
The Pentel pocket brushes have more flexible tips, and refillable cartridges, and don’t get destroyed as fast.
Oh boy, you win. If anyone’d been congratulating me I would’ve run away crying
I remember the exact date I got mine — the day before I was at my first rock concert, for Aerosmith’s Nine Lives tour. Kinda glad it happened close to home and not among thousands of people.
*chinrub* I didn’t tell my mom I got my period until the next day, because she’d been talking about my period ever since my sister got hers, which was about two years before I got mine. She was surprised and sad because I didn’t get cramps or anything xD and I put a pad on all by myself, and about a year or so later, I was using tampons easily.
What’s really weird is that I got my period on my 10th birthday. ._. I considered myself to be 9 still. :D

Oh no! My mom did the same thing when she found out too -__-
My mom threw a party and invited only women and girls who had also had their period. Got some good advice about life from them and excellent gifts :)
Wow!
Hah, one reason I’m glad I’m not a girl…
Damn right! Instead I got acne, oily hair, constantly aching feet and raging hormones. Yup! That beats getting a period anytime… [/sarcasm]
Heh, it’s like an afterschool special gone wrong!
No… friggin… way. I didn’t say anything until my third one! You are too brave, Boum…
I don’t think it was bravery! More like “WHAT THE HELL SHOULD I DO HELP ME”
all my mom did was to bring me pads and tell me what to do against the cramps…I guess I’m lucky xD

I knew about them too, but it was all so sudden — I was at my neighbour’s and my belly hurt and I thought I was going to be sick. SURPRISE
What is this brush pen? What’s your typical process? How much digital and how much analog?

I used to use a Staedtler brush pen (http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g135/shelley5000/2007-12168crop475.jpg top one), but now it’s basically nowhere to be found and I have yet to find a new brush pen that I like. I’m gonna try regular brush & India ink soon.
Is the Staedtler water based or something else?

I’m not sure if the Staedtler are water-based…
I’m using a Tombow now and I hate it. The brush splits in no time. I think I’m pretty rough with my pens apparently :P

I have to check those out!
I got mine the day I was a Jr Bridesmaid in my aunt’s wedding. Everyone found out. I had uncles coming up to me congratulating me…

I agree, you win lol :)

I like your comic. I found it from Christopher.
Thanks, I’m glad!
Same here. (Sorry I forgot to mention it in my previous comment.)

I was an early bloomer.
Yay (weird) life stories.
