Aww, this reminds me of the comic you did a while ago about that chocolate Mickey (or something like that) you couldn’t bring yourself to eat when you were a kid.
I used to do this!! A local bakery sold these animal buns (they still do actually), and my mum would buy me a chocobear. I refused to eat it cause it was so cute, and i didn’t want to hurt it. It would end up sitting in my bag, smooshed. Id eat it if it didn’t have a face anymore!
I wouldn’t eat anything with a face (animal crackers, gingerbread men, etc) until I was 9 because my granddad thought it would be hilarious to make a gingerbread man dance around and then make it sound like it was screaming while he bit its head off. 5-year-old (highly sensitive) me did not agree.
Cousin did this with one of the giant teddygrams. >_> When my uncle tried to show her she was supposed to eat it she screamed and cried until he gave it back. She then proceeded to tuck it into a toy bed. XD
It must be nurtured before it is eaten.

Haha yes!!
My mom once gave me a chocolate Barney and when I wouldn’t eat it (because of all the love), she snapped its head off.
Traumatized.

RIP (in Margot’s tummy) Penguin cookie.
Is that a skeletal torso design? That would be an awesome sweater to have.

Oh god -I still have a hard time with those for the same reason. Gingerbread men I can do if they’re not cut well, but gummy bears…

Two words “Sassauge Fest.”
It’s a movie.
