When I was fairly young, I tasted a kind of spaghetti at some friends once and absolutely loved it, and so mom tried to recreate it for my sake, and I thought it was so gross that I actually puked from it.
I feel so sorry for my mother for what my young self made her go through, sometimes. :/
Saddle up because this is how it’s going to be forever! My mom always complained about this while i was growing up. Just when she realized we liked something, she’d stock up and we suddenly hated it. Same goes for my office manager and the snack shelf.
I have this problem with myself! I’ll think, “Oh, this X snack is pretty good, I’ll buy a couple.” 2 weeks later, still struggling to finish this original stock of snacks, often becoming less appealing than new snacks I bought afterwards.
I’m not sure, but your child may have been a cat in a former life.

It’s a (very quickly drawn) Final Fantasy VII tee: https://www.fangamer.com/products/mako-energy
My mother would always do this to me and my sister when we were kids.
