I don’t like Hallowe’en either. PTSD and people unexpectedly knocking on your door at night do not a happy combination make.
I never got to celebrate it as a kid so I’ve never had a reason to like it- buuut I feel “meh” at best with all holidays, sooo…
The last time i dressed up i bought a vinyl sticker letter “L” and stuck it on my forehead. My response when people commented on my lack of a costume was “yeah, i’m a loser.”
The best minimalist costume I’ve seen (& thought about doing myself):
A gal at the PT office had “BOOK” carefully written on her face. My daughter is all about abstruse costumes: she’s gone as Fear (phobias written on white clothing), a Monday (a small cloud ‘raining’ on her head), Autumn (a garland of Leaves worn as a shawl), and most recently, a Formal Apology (tux jacket with “I’m sorry” taped on the shirt front underneath).

So how does this go over as a dad? I am also not big on dressing up personally, ever since I was a kid and the pressure was on at school.
Oh jeez, that’s gotta be rough. I’m sorry, man.
A friend suggested I dress as Bartleby the scrivener for Halloween, but I would prefer not to.

It’s Margot’s first trick-or-treating this year, so we’ll see how that goes!

To be honest it’s not all that bad, Hallowe’en in the UK is nowhere near as big of a thing as it is in the US- and apparently Canada I guess?
Wow!!
