Mustard Seeds
So I’ve eaten mustard all my life but suddenly I get an allergy reaction after the waitress had asked me about it. Coincidence? I THINK NOT.

Mustard is a processed product. The processing part is what eliminates most of the allergens because mustard is cooked as it’s made in factory settings. I’m allergic to tomatoes and lots of other raw veg, but I can eat ketchup just fine because, like mustard, ketchup is processed and heated, which kills the allergens.
Yeah, same here. I can eat tomato sauce(s); but I’m sensitive enough that even cooked whole or diced tomatoes will give me hives or, if I eat enough, an asthma attack. (Nothing deadly, but damned uncomfortable!)
Similarly with my brother: raw apples, pears and some other fruit give him a very mild allergic reaction. (His ears itch horribly!) But he’s absolutely fine with the same stuff, cooked.
Look up OAS, Oral Allergy Syndrome. It’s what I have, with exactly the same symptoms.
I will, thanks!

Raw apples and pears here. It happened suddenly when I was about 30yo. My sister became allergic as well around the same time.
Never heard of a stranger jinxing someone like this! Hopefully it goes away soon!
Ohh, I’ve caught up now~
I was having a lovely marathon of your comics during my lunch breaks~
I love your work and I always look forward to your updates :)
Thank you for sticking around!
