I’m so proud!
Congrats Annette! And one of my earliest memories is, weirdly, the fact that I enhanced my own E’s.
We can rebuild them, make them better, faster, stronger!…
EĖĘĚĔÈÉÊËĒ (oddly fitting that all those “E”s would make a similar sound from Bionic Man).
My 3,5-year-old has also practiced writing her own name, has trouble fitting all the letters in (she just starts over somewhere else entirely), and oh goodness, the enhanced E’s are just amazing. But I’m glad she can write my name and two of her friends’ names too – but not her dad’s yet :D
She also just writes random letters and then commands me to read what she wrote :DD it’s so much fun.
Oh, man. I’m torn between “yay, my kid’s not a weirdo, other kids do these things too” and “aw, I thought my kid was different and special.”
One of my classes this semester covers teaching kids how to read, and it has got to be one of the most interesting classes i’ve taken so far.
