(It’s Majora’s mask from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. It’s not a nice little heart.)
It’s perfect for Margot in a sense
The real question is did she meet with a terrible fate? I don’t think I would contain my giggles if I taught pre school and I saw that.
I think no one at her preschool has the same references (sadly).
I really like this outfit! <3
Part of me always worries a little when I see these “nerd-parenting” style comics. I’d like to think that, when I have kids, I’d show them all of the cool stuff I grew up with so they could love it the same way I did. But I also worry that feeding them too much stuff outside of their generation is kinda’… alienating? What’s a kid going to talk about with their friends on the playground when all the stuff they like is a decade or two too old?
Not that I’m criticizing your parenting or anything! Both of your daughters seem like good kids and they’ll grow up to be intelligent young women. But do you ever worry about them having a hard time around other kids because of the stuff they like? (They’re probably too young to worry about bullying, so maybe it’s not an issue and I’m just full of it.)
Oh, we’ve been thinking about this too (like Margot saying her favourite princess is Nausicaä– none of the other kids will know who she’s talking about). But my kids also get to know other, more actual stuff; for example, both totally love Minions, and they’re up to date in the Pixar/Disney films too. So as far as having pop culture to talk about, they’ll do fine, they’ll just have more references than most. ;)
Also kids that age don’t worry about these things at all, indeed.
