You know minions got old when even the target audience is tired of them. Too bad happy meals don’t give you little Terras and Celes…Celesses…?….I think like mama she would be all over that :)
As a kid I stayed a day care center that had some happy meal toys that were older then I was. They were cool little transformers made to look like french fries in their cup, drink cups or burgers and mr potato head-esque mc nuggets with little outfits and hats; all very clearly branded with a Mc Donald’s logo.
I never got something that cool. By the 90s it was already lumps of plastic that doesn’t move and tied to some movie tie in. Maybe a car if you were lucky. I remember I went different fast place once (I forget where) and got a cool Carmen Sandigo Puzzle and and Compass and thought it was the best meal toy ever.
Not to be the old guy saying “back in my day…” but back in my day the McD’s toys WERE better. McDonald’s wasn’t quite the juggernaut it is now and was still trying to find it’s brand. A good amount of the toys carried McD’s logo or were in their character likeness. Heck McD’s even sold books and movies at one point for a few bucks along with their food. Good books too like Wizard of Oz and Last of the Mohicans.
I still have those transforming food robots because they were awesome!
Or maybe she just isn’t a fan of Minions. I’m pretty tired of them, too.
