My fiancé once did it, though the candle was inside a jar so he ended up getting all the hot wax all over his face and shirt. I must say, I panicked a bit.
My sister loved candles everywhere. I used to make candles and no I never gave her any candles she always bought the cheap crappy kind. When I cleaned her house with my mom it was a nightmare to get rid of candle wax. My boyfriend had to convince me that the homemade candles are better because you can make thicker candles and use a thicker wick so the candles will not melt everywhere. Instead the candle melts a hole down the middle and slowly out. Any left-overs you can throw into the candle pot and make new candles out of, but you have to take out the old wick.
My boyfriend and I stopped making candles together because we moved into a new beautiful house with granite counter tops. I did not want to mess up my granite counter tops and my travertine floors. We were able to buy a beautiful house. It came with travertine which is very common now but was not when they built the house 14 years ago.
So he and I found another activity to do together as a couple. We both loved LEGO from our childhood and so now we are Adult Fans of LEGO. He and I are part of a club called CactusBrick. If you are ever in Arizona or just like crazy creations done but at least 20 people please like us and follow us on facebook http://www.facebook.com/CactusBrick
