Singalong
Shortly after, I asked for the 1,000-page long book by Victor Hugo and read it all within a month or something.
Also you guys! This Sunday is the Montreal Mini Comiccon! I’ll be there! Come shop for Christmas gifts! It’s at Place Bonaventure! From 10AM to 5PM! Yay!
I’ve never heard of this… play? Slash book? Anyway, I’m going to have to put in my list of “actual fun things you can do with Barbies.” Just no idea if it should go above or below blowing them up. :D I love the childish ignorance displayed here, with absolute no regard for the “tragic” events going on through their dolly play. Hahaha, it’s just so cute! ^.^ Just toss the dead one and move on to the next fun song! 8D
I think it’s the longest running musical in history (I might be wrong…), based off a French book by Victor Hugo. :B
I thought that was Phantom of the Opera. Or it might be Phantom has the longest continuous run, where Le Mis is the oldest one that still runs?
I did the exact same thing—but with “Starlight Express” and little plastic puppies. For some reason I made all the girl characters kittens.
Starlight Express with puppies and kittens?… Sounds trippy :D
I love it! My brother and I used to try to make stop-and-go action movies with our toys and parents camera. It was not entirely successful but fun.
Oh, Pierre-Luc used to do that too, and he still has the little videos. They used a video camera so there’s also sound. It’s… interesting.
will you post it or is it too “interesting”?
Did you actually read it in French? I read that in French, it’s about 1900 pages long. I’m not sure how that would translate to Canadian French, but that’s a huge book nonetheless. I’ve never read the book, but I’ll definitely add it to my list.
“Canadian French” is not really a language so we wouldn’t get a translation from French. So yes, I did read it in French. You might be right about the 1,900 page thing, maybe I underestimated it :P My version was divided into three books (all of which were pretty big still) and it’s pretty hard to read, to be honest. Romantism (I think it’s romantism) is extremely descriptive, sometimes too much even. At one point there was one descriptive sentence that would be one page long. Or a very secondary character’s background story which would span on over 100 pages.
Well, I forgot to add that the unabridged version is 1,900 pages long.
“The novel is divided into five volumes, each volume divided into books, and subdivided into chapters (for a total of three hundred sixty-five chapters). Each chapter is relatively short, usually no longer than a few pages. Nevertheless, the novel as a whole is quite lengthy by modern standards, exceeding fourteen hundred pages in unabridged editions (1900 pages in French).”
Snagged that from Wikipedia.
Also, I thought that Canadian French might be a dialect with some bits of other languages mixed in as compared to the French spoken in France. Kind of like American English and British English.
Oh wow, I don’t know if I read an abridged version or not (it’s been a while). It was still pretty long still…
Canadian French and French French are indeed like American English and British English! But we write it the same, minus a few words that are different here and there, but not much really.
