But real, REAL poutine can only be found in Quebec (only there will you find the real cheese). Canadian poutine is close enough, but not quite there. ;)
Ah! Now I get it. (Thanks) It was already open. I thought she just bit in the closed package like Björn (whose 2nd birthday will be next week) would have done.
I had a quite similar situation today with Björn and aioli. I don’t know what he expected (could have been yogurt, too) cause when he took a bite he looked really surprised and a little bit disgusted. Then he put the dipped pizza roll demonstratively on the plate. A few seconds later the took the roll up again and licked it thoughtfully. Suddenly he began to smile and demanded: “Mo, mo!”
I’m glad I’m not longer the only person in the family whose breath smells of garlic.;)
Congratulations from the UK, hoping all goes smoothly and it’s a wonderful day, and none of your bizarre dreams on the subject come close to coming true.
Mayo on fries doesn’t seem weird to me at all. (UK here.) We don’t typically eat it that way but we don’t have an issue with doing so, and some eateries might provide you with interesting mayos- sriracha mayo, or basil mayo, etc.
You Canadians will put just about anything on french-fries, won’t you?
Haha I knew somebody was gonna be weirded out by this! I think it’s a French thing, not a Canadian thing.
I live pretty close to Canada these days, so eventually I’m gonna have to take a drive north and try some real poutine.

I once was a heathen, unclean and shunned by society. Then I tried mayo on french fries.
That shit’s pretty good.
I think the mayo on fries thing is originally a European thing as it’s something I picked up from my Dutch grandfather.
Makes sense! Belgians also eat their fries that way, it probably made its way around Europe.
There’s a Belgian fries place here in Colorado. They have SO MANY delicious sauces….all based on mayonnaise!
Did she try and like it?
She likes mayo, but you know the feeling when you taste something while expecting a different thing?
Funny fact- when I make a bloody mary it looks almost identical to my recipe for rum punch.

…Are you implying that canadian mcdonald’s gives you tiny packets of yogurt? or am i reading something that isn’t there
Well, big packets of yogurt. Like, tube-things of yogurt?
The closest thing to that description in the states would be called go-gurt.
And it’s officially October: Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials!
Yes, those!
Also: hey thanks, what a memory! It’s next week aaaaaaa
You’ll have at least 1 fan in the states wishing for a happy one!
Oh, hey! Congratulations from me too!

(after looking up ‘nuptials’)
Oh, wow! Congratulations! I wish you a wonderful day, too.

My favorite topping for fries is half tarter sauce and half ketchup. The best tartar sauce for the mixture is at McDonald’s. Yum.
