I remember all those American TV spots about how margarine usually doesn’t spread (ie. “I can’t believe it’s not butter!”). It’s a strange thing because I’ve never had trouble spreading Canadian margarine.

Margarine was invented to be better for you then butter but it actually is worse. Butter for the win! Seriously, better is better for stove top saute and frying. Olive Oil is for salads and pasta.

Hmm. My family pretty much only uses margarine and it spreads fine. (American, by the way.)

If anything a stick of margarine is easier to spread then a stick of butter. From a tub though it’s about even.
I’m more a fan of butter, but I’d trust a tub of margarine labeled Margrawesome any day.
