La seule place où j’avais vu de quoi de similaire avant, c’était à NY, dans un magasin de poupées chères où t’avais des supports à poupées dans les cabines de toilettes.
Squat toilets (turkish as you said) I would assume are a more hygienic choice since you dont need to touch anything.

Squat toilets are also considered better for your health. It’s a more natural pose, and it doesn’t strain your bowels to use. (I’ve heard that the squatting pose is really good for constipation too, it induces your muscles to work properly, or something)
Also, they take a lot less water to use.
