Cautious
Annette is so careful that she starts “going down” a step like six feet away from it. (This somehow didn’t translate in comic format, sorry for the lame comic, I’ll do better on Wednesday.)

I think it works well lol My son does the same thing, but arms first (which worries me)
ARMS FIRST OMG
You might not have hit the six foot mark, but the whole “she gets prepared for the step significantly further away than necessary” comes across pretty clear!
She’s adorable. I love seeing the little differences between her and Margot in the comic at her age.
Thanks :)
This comic is not lame at all. I thought you made your point quite well! And that’s certainly better than the completely fearless approach that my nephew took, before cartwheeling down a carpeted three stair set.
Thank you!
My cousin fell down stairs that way too, and he ended up having to go to the hospital because his eyes had gone backwards/inwards?? Scary stuff. (He’s fine now– that was over 20 years ago.)
Toddlers scare me when they try to use stairs; Annette’s method is sooo much better, haha.
She’s still pretty bad at climbing down stairs — not letting her try that yet!! Too scary!
better to be safe than sorry! Very, very, very safe.
My son used to do this too…and until he was about 6 he would still go down the stairs on his butt. He has always been a bit on the small side for his age and I was OK with him sliding down on his butt…only down side was he expected everyone else to do it that way too lol
