This was our family a couple of days ago:
Me, whispering: It’s time to wake Daddy up from his nap. Do you want to go wake him up nicely?
4-year-old daughter, whispering: Yeah!
Me, whispering: Okay. Go on in. Make sure to be nice and gentle.
4-year-old daughter: *Jumps on him and lands squarely on his chest*
Not anymore.
Sadly, this was me as a child. Now I’m on the other side of it. Whoa. Inside voice, inside voice.
