Wow, even at two she knows the powers of your name. Out of curiosity – do you have a nickname you use more often with her, but then when she’s in trouble you call her by her name (or add her middle name, like my mom did?). I even do that with my little brother – I usually call him “Buddy” or “Kid,” but if he really cheeses me off, it’s “DONALD!”
We call her “baby” and “beautiful” but she doesn’t have a nickname per say. When she’s in trouble we call her by her full name (she doesn’t have a middle name, it isn’t common where I live).
At least she knows how to get your attention in an emergency. Of course, a child’s definition of “emergency” might vary from yours … but the point is, if she’s lost or whatever, she knows what your name is. Also, another child might just have let rip with a curse word, so hollering your name is actually quite thoughtful of her!
I once caught the “bla, bla” bug when my dog (a 75-pound pit bull/lab mix) was nudging me very politely to tell me she needed to go outdoors. Somehow I didn’t notice, until she was driven by desperation to climb up onto the dining room table, where she stood in silence, staring at the door, until I caught on. She never did it before, and she never did it after, so she must have been about to burst.
I’m sure if she had the ability to call me by my name, she would have done that instead.
lol I did this to my mom in the grocery store. You have to say it all excited-like, that gets their attention. However, I had not figured that out at age 2 :P

I did that as a kid. It works lol.

My daughter does the same thing to me.

My 26 month old niece calls her dad “Saindon” sometimes, because her mom calls him that to tease him. The effect is similar – and hilarious.
